Yes I could use PS but RoF should do just fine for negating the damage of backbreaker it is not like it is a big spike. What if some ppl only have Proph.only skills?

To Mai I am probably way older than you so I don't push myself for those achievements.

It seems The Guru has a burping problem.

I mean, seriously. Was anyone online lately? How fair is it to have a chest running weekend if only Europe is going to have favor? Why should the damn HA infringe upon MY play? The PvE/PvP issue is rooted in more than just skill balance.
/agree

summed up my opinion as well.

Age, you were the one that said:

My direct response to you was that I have done what you've asked me to experience and then some. Hardmode is hardly impossible as you make it out to seem. Is it more difficult than what people are used to? Yes. Impossible? No not at all, if players looked at the tools they have at their disposal then any PvE challenge can be overcome if they put the effort into it.

First off RoF is ok if the damage is once in a while but grawl build adrenaline to spike, yes spike you with at a more faster rate than you'd be preventing. So spamming RoF is not the solution. Even if they only had Proph only skills then one of the solutions would be bring healing seed to negate the damage since mobs attack at a higher rate. (I.E Faster attacks = more heals from healing seed) Or the use of aegis could be a solution since it's a party wide melee damage prevention. These are one of many solutions people can come up with to overcome the challenge. If your Reyna is dying constantly to backbreaker then I'd seriously reconsider your skillset to deal with the dmg from it since your RoF spam clearly isn't cutting it.

It's simple..just use your brain to make up solutions instead of coming up with excuses.

Back to the original topic... In my honest opinion as more of a PvE oriented person who PvPs from time to time, I think that the PvP side of the game should be considered more than PvE side when the devs are considering skill rebalances. Yes there will be whines and groans from the PvE majority but people tend to forget that PvE is you vs a static AI, nothing more. It doesn't change it's build in any way, you know what your going up against.

Just for example, Mending Touch on a 4 second recharge was too good in GvG, but on a 6 second recharge I think it's a perfectly fair skill and good for the metagame. Did that change have any practical effect on PvE?

What did this have to do with anything?

I do understand PvP skills need to be worked toward a resemblance of balance. However, balance is an illusion with so many possible skill combinations. There will always be an overpowered team.

Only with the same skill sets, again the chess metaphor comes to mind, can true balance be achieved. This of course, has the danger of becoming bland.

On the PvE side of things, most people resent the influence pvp has upon skill balances because it is the minority ruling the majority.

I personally think "balancing" PvE using health increases and other increases is poor implementation. Hard mode is hard, but for many it is not fun either. Granted, many have fun with it.Which is great, but I am in the camp that believes such changes are mediocre considering the potential pve has with guild war's mechanics.

Hard Mode had/has the potential to bridge the gap between PvE and PvP styles of play through the Ai's team builds, skill sets, and behavior. However, the actual implementation seemed to drive the two play styles further apart.

I consider Guild Wars a great game overall. Currently, the game seems very divided with all the separate camps players are dividing into.
